Forum Laboris



Forum Laboris is an on-site event connected to EAA conferences/summer or winter- schools providing young acousticians the opportunity to get to know and establish connections with employers.

Forum Laboris is a satellite event of Forum Acusticum / Euronoise 2025 to be held in Málaga (Spain) from June 23rd to 26th, 2025. However, participation in Forum Laboris does not require registration for the Congress.

Forum Laboris aims to connect potential job seekers/interested young acousticians and employers by providing initial and more detailed insights into work at companies, universities, and research centers.

Forum Laboris' tentative plan consists of two parts:

             1. Employers’ introduction pitches (approx. 60 minutes)

             2. Speed-dating between employers and job seekers (approx. 90 – 120 minutes)

Introduction pitches allow a quick overview of the employers at Forum Laboris, while speed-dating brings people together for the first step in networking. The speed-dating part is intended to establish communication channels with employers for the job application process and should not be mistaken for job interviews.

Forum Laboris will take place during the Congress as an in-person event. The final date, time and schedule will be confirmed after considering all participation applications.

Registration procedure:

Employers

Employers apply by fulfilling this form, including the following information:

• Company / Institution name.
• Contact details of the representative person.
• Short description of the company/ institution (incl. specialties/ technical topics).
• Number of representatives that will participate in Forum Laboris (incl. number of participants).
• Interview language (English/Spanish).

Job seekers

Job seekers/ interested young acousticians apply by fulfilling this form, including the following information:

• Contact details.
• Current qualification and job status.
• CV (max. 2 pages).
• Interview language (English/Spanish)

Procedure and important dates

Dates

• Application deadline for companies and job seekers: Monday, June 2nd, 2024, 11 AM.
• Announcement of participating companies (via mail & website): Monday, June 9th, 2024.
• Registration/ application for pre-scheduled speed-dating slots (50% of all available slots for each company). Monday, June 16th, 2024, 11 AM.
• Announcement to participants (via mail) about pre-scheduled speed-dating slots.
• On-site registration to speed-dating slots (left-over 50% of slots) will be opened after the employers' introduction pitches.

Procedures

• Depending on the number of represented employers, introduction pitches will last 3-10 minutes.
• Each speed-dating slot will take approximately 10 minutes and will comprise a short elevator pitch (1-2 minutes) by the job seeker/ young acoustician to practice self-presentation and a casual chat between the employer and job seeker/ young acoustician.
• In parallel to the speed-dating, space will be provided for casual talks between all participants of Forum Laboris who are not involved in speed-dating slots.
